Although we won’t see Henry Cavill’s Superman, his former The Witcher co-star Anya Chalotra might’ve landed a role in James Gunn’s upcoming DC project.
Yes, following Cavill’s contentious exit from the DC Comics Superman role, the co-CEO of DC Studios, James Gunn, appears to have considered casting his The Witcher co-star for a fascinating voice role in the upcoming Creature Commandos series. A 2024 release on Max, Creature Commandos is an adult animated series that will be the first in the newly created DCU continuity. A number of the voice cast members have already been made public, and Chalotra is reportedly one of them.
Rumor has it that the British actress has joined the cast of the animated series as Circe, a villain best known for her conflict with Wonder Woman in DC Comics history. Even though these rumors have not been confirmed, the idea by itself has piqued fans’ curiosity and interest all around the world.
James Gunn Rumored to Have Cast Anya Chalotra in Creature Commandos
Anya Chalotra, who played Yennefer of Vengerberg in Netflix’s The Witcher, appears to be on board in James Gunn’s upcoming animated series Creature Commandos. She will play Circe, a villain connected to Wonder Woman in comic books, according to an update posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. Check out the post below:

Chalotra’s casting is not yet confirmed, but if it is, it could imply that she will be cast in live-action roles as Circe. Creature Commandos is set in the DCU, just like Superman: Legacy and other upcoming motion pictures and TV shows that DC Studios has in store.
David Harbour, Frank Grillo, Maria Bakalova, Indira Varma, Zoe Chao, Alan Tudyk, and Sean Gunn are among the other cast members of Creature Commandos. It is also worth noting that Gunn wrote all seven episodes.

James Gunn’s Blunt Reaction to Henry Cavill’s Superman Ousting
James Gunn and Peter Safran’s upcoming DC slate includes Superman: Legacy (2025), as they confirmed in a Twitter thread. But Henry Cavill will not be portraying their Man of Steel:
Among those on the slate is Superman. In the initial stages, our story will be focusing on an earlier part of Superman’s life, so the character will not be played by Henry Cavill.

Although it is obvious that Cavill will not be playing Superman again, that does not necessarily mean he is finished working with the DC universe, as Gunn noted:

We last saw Cavill’s Superman on June 16, 2023, when The Flash was released in theaters.
Cavill first appeared in the Superman role in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, alongside Amy Adams as Lois Lane. Following that, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017) were released. The actor’s next project is the upcoming spy action comedy film Argylle, which is produced and directed by Matthew Vaughn. The release date of the Universal Pictures movie is scheduled for February 2, 2024.
Creature Commandos will make its debut on Max in 2024.
